Neighbourhoods in West Yorkshire

West Yorkshire is a county where Leeds gets most of the attention, but Bradford and Wakefield both stand on their own. Bradford is diverse, creative and considerably more affordable than Leeds, with good rail links and the South Pennines on its doorstep. Wakefield has The Hepworth gallery, a good city centre and strong motorway and rail connections. Four Corners has homes in both.

Bradford is the UK's fifth-largest city, with a particularly diverse and vibrant population, and a food culture that reflects it: Manningham, Kirkgate Market and the city's curry houses have a justified national reputation. The National Science and Media Museum is one of the best free cultural attractions in the North, and Bradford's industrial architecture, from the old mills to the Wool Exchange, gives the city a distinctive character. The South Pennines start at Bradford's western edge, with the Brontë country around Haworth, the Pennine Way and some of England's most dramatic moorland all within a short drive. Wakefield is quieter in feel but well worth knowing. The Hepworth Wakefield, opened in 2011, is among the best modern art galleries in the country. The city's food and drink offer has grown, the city centre is well served by shops and services, and the M1 and East Midlands Railway give excellent connections to Leeds, Sheffield and London. Normanton, within the City of Wakefield district, has its own railway station with direct services to Leeds, Sheffield and York.

Both cities offer competitive rents and good everyday quality of life within easy reach of Leeds, the Pennines and the wider Yorkshire region.
