Neighbourhoods in Staffordshire

Staffordshire runs from the Potteries in the north to the Trent Valley in the south, and the two are quite different in feel. Stoke-on-Trent is a proper city with culture, universities and direct rail access to Manchester, Birmingham and London. Burton-on-Trent is a market town with good local employment and straightforward motorway access to Derby, Leicester and Birmingham. Four Corners has homes in both.

Stoke-on-Trent is made up of six distinct towns: Hanley, Burslem, Tunstall, Longton, Fenton and Stoke itself, each with their own identity and high street. The Potteries are famous for Wedgwood, Royal Doulton and the history of ceramics manufacturing, and the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery holds one of the finest collections in the Midlands. Keele University and Staffordshire University both have campuses in the city, and the cultural offer has grown in recent years alongside the food and drink scene. Rail connections are excellent: direct services to Manchester Piccadilly, Birmingham New Street and London Euston all run from Stoke station, and the M6 is within easy reach. Burton-on-Trent has deep brewing roots, home to Coors, Marston's and the National Brewery Centre, and sits within the National Forest, a growing area of new woodland that covers much of south Staffordshire and the Trent Valley. Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with its heathland, deer and mountain biking trails, is within easy reach of both towns.

Both Stoke and Burton are unpretentious places where rents are among the most competitive of any comparable city or town in the Midlands.
