Neighbourhoods in North Yorkshire

Middlesbrough and Redcar sit on the northern edge of North Yorkshire, close to the Tees estuary and within easy reach of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Both towns have competitive rents, genuine communities and some of the most dramatic countryside in England a short drive away. Four Corners has homes in both.

Middlesbrough is a town that has invested in itself. The Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art is one of the UK's better contemporary art galleries, free to enter and genuinely world-class in its programme. The food scene has developed considerably, with independent restaurants, bars and coffee shops alongside the established town centre offer. Teesside University brings a large student and graduate population, and James Cook University Hospital, one of the region's major employers, is just a few miles south. The Transporter Bridge, a rare and remarkable piece of industrial engineering, crosses the Tees into Stockton and has become a symbol of the town. Middlesbrough FC and the Riverside Stadium add to the community identity. The North Yorkshire Moors begin just a few miles south of the town edge, making places like Roseberry Topping, Goathland and the steam railway at Grosmont accessible in a short drive. Redcar is a coastal market town eight miles east of Middlesbrough, with a long sandy beach, an esplanade, Redcar Racecourse and a good range of independent shops and cafes. The Cleveland Way long-distance walking path passes close by, and the coast between Redcar and Whitby is genuinely beautiful.
