Neighbourhoods in the West Midlands

The West Midlands is a large, well-connected region with Birmingham at its centre. The city has seen real change over the past decade, with a stronger food and cultural scene and continued investment in transport, housing and the public realm. Around it, Wolverhampton, the Black Country towns and Coventry each offer good access to Birmingham at considerably lower rents. Four Corners has homes in Bilston, Birmingham, Coventry, Smethwick, Wednesbury and Wolverhampton.

Birmingham has built a genuinely diverse food and drink offer in recent years, from the Balti Triangle and Digbeth to Brum's growing independent bar scene. The city has excellent cultural institutions, two major railway stations with services to London in under 90 minutes, and Birmingham Airport for international travel. Wolverhampton is often underestimated: it's a proper city with over 600 shops and restaurants in the centre, a strong arts offer including Wolverhampton Art Gallery, and direct rail access to Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester. The Black Country towns of Bilston, Smethwick and Wednesbury sit within the dense urban core of the region, giving excellent access to Birmingham at prices that make sense. Coventry, to the east, is a university city with a young and diverse population, fast rail links to London Euston, and an ambitious city centre regeneration underway.

The M6, M5, M42 and M40 keep the region road-connected in all directions. Whether you're drawn by Birmingham's energy, the value of the Black Country or the independent character of Wolverhampton and Coventry, the West Midlands has a lot to offer renters at a range of budgets.
